guilt by association

The problem is that in this situation, it is the bosses that are the worms. I wish it weren't because it's a fantastic organization, but that's the way it is. I figure that the only reason they've come this far is because of the work of the highly talented people...just before they get 'eaten'.

where far have i personally come exactly?

Farscape has a mini-series that airs in October, the fates willing. how is that me?

Brian Henson is hoping that the mini will draw enough eyeballs that Farscape can continue beyond the mini. that means future work for Henson, the Creature Shop, Animal Logic, the actors...how is that me either?

Brian Henson was able to secure financing for the mini series as a direct result of the fan outcry of thousands around the world. nope. still not me.

the press has been behind Farscape since day one, skewering SciFi for their choice to cancel the show. don't got nothin' to do with that either.

ratscape has created iconic graphics for the campaign. nobody mistakes his work for me. mycattoldme has also done superlative image work. nobody thinks that's me either. the FarOps are on their own tear with their upcoming convention sweep. certainly nobody thinks *that's* me.

then there's all of the money that comes in to the various branches of the campaign to help fund the many many projects run by Scapers all over the country, hell, all over the world! my bank can certainly testify that it's not coming from me.

and let's not forget all of the postcards and letters that are written to newspapers, television stations, advertisers, networks, network execs, etc....that have been written from day one...those are also, hard to believe but true, not me either.

so forgive me if i'm puzzled, but where is my personal advancement?

the *campaign* has succeeded. the *campaign* has gone where no fan campaign has ever gone. the *campaign* was able to open financial doors for Brian Henson.

was there somewhere exactly, if someone could point it out for me, that i said or implied or inferred that all of the amazing things that Scapers have done since that cold, dark day in September was somehow a result of my personal work, or influence or direction? are there threads somewhere that i've started that trumpet the amazing works that i've done for the campaign, because i don't remember typing them.


sadly, i should be used to this, though, because it's not the first time i've been called subversive and disrespectful. it's not even the second time. or the third for that matter.

what i'm not used to, however, is the genuinely honest work of dedicated Scapers getting tarnished, their character maligned, simply by association. i apparently eat people up and spit them out when i'm done, and only those 'victims' of my selfish, subversive and disrespectful quest for fame are in any way possessed of honest intentions.

even half eaten, they're still of a much higher caliber than most of the good apples left in that basket.

i am so very sorry. none of you deserve that.
