How are things in Glocca Morra?

i didn't know how to spell that until about 5 minutes ago. i'd forgotten i even knew it until about 5 minutes ago. it's something my dad used to say, not unlike, (she says with an Apollo smile), "sometimes you just have to roll the hard 6." i didn't know what it meant either. (the first one, not the second one.) so, i'm looking up the years that Sports Night was in production, (why yes it is 0937 in the morning why do you ask?)-- because i'm sick as a dog still and can't sleep right this second -- and i hit up imdb's trivia page for the show. lo and behold, they had an ep title "How are Things in Glocca Morra". the title of the ep apparently has nothing to do with anything in the ep anymore because that was when Robert Guillaume had his stroke, so the writers had a bit of re-writing to do. originally, his character, Isaac Jaffe, was supposed to have a thing about not remembering the words to that song...the ep title. it's a song. from Finnigan's Rainbow. a musical. i love musicals. dad raised me on them and yet i seem to have never seen this one. all this time i thought my dad was just makin' that shit up, playin' with words cuz they sounded good, cuz that's what he did to be goofy.

he used to ask me that all the time. in this funny little voice he made up.

and i'd forgotten it until just now.

and now i'm gonna go channel Dan and have a conflicted parental moment. someone should make me an icon.
