"The Book of Daniel" is an upcoming mid-season replacement, starring Aiden Quinn. here is the article, in it's totality from Mediaweek:
The AFA said it "would be beneficial to all if NBC showed a little more respect for Christians who believe in the Bible," and the AFA plans to "monitor" advertisers who "underwrite this program."
The AFA in the past has called for boycotts of advertisers who advertise in programming that the organization is opposed to. AFA has protested such shows as ABC's Ellen and the Howard Stern radio show, among others.
NBC plans to air the show beginning Jan. 6, but had no official comment on the AFA's latest letter writing campaign
i only have 5 things to say to this.
1. because clearly, faith is such a fragile thing that anything short of complete adulation would damage viewers' religious beliefs. coughhorseshitcough
2. because clearly, true Christians are utterly and absolutely "perfect" in every way, and could never possibly struggle with things like drug addiction and alcoholism; which then begs the question, why did God send His only Son to earth, to live and die as a mortal man for our sins, since, apparently, we don't have any.
3. because clearly, true Christians are heterosexual and abominations against God have no faith, much less souls.
4. dear AFA, fuck off. get off my side. no love, me.
5. sounds like a great show. i think i'll watch. thanks AFA for reminding me it was on. fucktards.
eta: i lied. i have another thing to say. two actually.
6. get off the cross, buddy, we need the wood.
7. you don't get to judge. that's God's job, so it's already taken, and you do it badly.
AFA Slams NBC's Book of Daniel[is he more upset that the son is gay, or a republican? -ed] a 16-year-old daughter who is a drug dealer, and a 16-year-old adopted son who is having sex with the bishop's daughter. And at the office, his lesbian [he has a pet lesbian? -ed] is sleeping with his sister-in-law."

Donald Wildmon's American Family Association is calling on NBC affiliates to refuse to air the upcoming, short-arc, midseason series The Book of Daniel, saying the show "mocks Christianity."
The organization is also calling on TV viewers to send via its Web site, a letter composed by AFA, calling on NBC Universal Chairman Bob Wright to "inform all NBC affiliates, in writing that they are not required to air this program if they choose not to."
The AFA said contrary to the show being a "serious drama about Christian people and Christian faith," the main character, Daniel Webster, "is a drug-addicted Episcopal priest whose wife depends heavily on her midday martinis."
AFA continues that "the Webster family is rounded out by a 23-year-old homosexual Republican son,

to me the show sounds like it's trying too hard, sure, but boycott it because of the way it portrays people of faith? Why do they believe you need to be saved if you are perfect? How do you know how well they will be portayed until you see it? That would be MY question, did they see an advance copy, did they ask for changes, did they try to work with anyone.
Or is this just the knee jerking... and making The Faith sound like the opiate of the masses...
