lol. Of course, the controversy itself was already brewing over in Denmark because they were originally published in September '05, but the whole idea of not publishing the images out of respect for Islam is kind of blown out of the water. Was the paper running an article expressing its outrage at the cartoons? Somehow I doubt it was just publishing them in the editorial section alongside of the ones where the Jew vampires kill palestinian children.
(Incidentally, I think the "Stop! Stop! We're out of virgins!" one is genius.)
From everything I've heard over the last couple of days, it seems like the Danish paper published the cartoons to prove that they wern't scared of offending the Islamic population. Which seems like a really bad reason to do anything.
I've also heard that extreamists slipped in some even more offensive pictures and told their followers that the Danes had published them when they hadn't.
heh egyptiansandmonkey says "Ohh yeah, and Buy Danish." it does in fact remind me of a song...
Presidential elections Are planned distractions To divert attention From the action behind the scenes
Like a game of chess when the house is a mess Or a petty money squabble when your marriage is in trouble Or a football game When there's rioting in the streets
It's just another movie Another song and dance Another poor sucker who never had a chance...
I heard or read somewhere that at least one of those "cartoons" was leaked by a radical Muslim group to ignite anger and violence...the one that has Mohammad with a pig face, which I haven't seen. Evidently it may have come from a blurry photograph taken from a French newspaper story covering a pig squealing contest.
PS-I liked the "we're out of virgins" one, too. heh.
