seriously, the ONLY one that worked was Touching Evil, and Donovan was brilliant but even he wasn't as good as Robson Greene, and the show wasn't as brilliant as the Brit version.

I just ... I don't know how I feel about this. I'm really, really, really not a fan of David Kelly. At all. And LoM is such a high-concept show, I don't see how you can drag it out over a full American season without it becoming a bit of absurd. On the other hand, they're doing it with Kudos, and I do like what they do. So ... I just don't know.

i can't see how they can take it out of it's context. it's not Touching Evil. and i honestly think that TE was sheer luck because every other adaptation i've seen, no matter how good the actors or the writers, has just sucked.

Hollywood will so fuck this up. Clooney can pretend at the Oscars all he wants. Hollywood has no balls whatsoever, and LoM is honest, and Simm's portrayal, and Glenister's portrayal, are so honest.

Oh, I really can't see it out of its original context, either. And like I said, I really dislike David Kelley, so I have zero faith that he'll do it justice. I fear they'll turn it into some jokey "look at all those afros and wacky bellbottoms" period piece schlock.

I'm just not sure how you'd throw over the proper ending of the original series to do a remake in another country, though. That doesn't make sense to me. If that is the case, though, then I'd think the blame would rest on the other side of the pond.
