i also think it's interesting that there don't seem to be republicans on every talk show in town screaming "vast leftwing conspiracy!!!! WE WERE ROBBED ZOMG!!!!!!!!!"

here's hoping that the Dems will grow up and become the party that they should be, and will help lead the nation, and by extension, help the Repubs get their act together so that they can also help lead the nation, and that the two parties will grow up together and recognize that they are BOTH equally necessary and required to help lead the nation.

yeah, isn't that funny? i noticed that, too.

"never" is a word far too easily supplied.

when you believe a thing, you make it so. if you believe it will "never" happen, then in your eyes it won't....and you'll do nothing to contribute to a differing outcome because you've doomed it from its inception.

and that, in a nutshell, is the problem with politics. sides REFUSE to see the commonalities, to allow for the good intentions, to work towards compromise. it's failing because they WANT IT TO; that let's them point and say "see! they're evil!!! i told you so!!!!!!"

and that makes it self-fulfilling.

remember all the people that told us we'd "never" get more Farscape? we smiled and politely told them to stfu in our heads because we *knew* better. we believed and functioned from that belief. and when we got the mini-series, we recognized our triumph. we didn't whine and snivel and say "but that's not good enough!!!!!!" well, most of us didn't. some did, and still are, and they're still bitter, and still blaming, and still miserable. the smarter of us have moved on.
