I know a lot of people are clamoring for Obama to run, even the Hollywood elite, but I for one think that the experience factor is going to be truly important in 2008. The next president is going to need foreign policy experience to rebuild alliances which have been broken. I could handle Obama as a vice presidential nominee, but not as a presidential nominee.

yeah, i don't disagree about a vp nod. i think it would be good experience no matter who the frontrunner was or whether they won or lost.

i was particularly intrigued by the "why is the press pushing this so hard" aspect of the article.

Yeah, and considering it was an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal, which is targeted towards the investor community. I am a stock trader and I frequent a stock chat room and a couple of investment message boards every day. There has been hardly any discussion about the election in 2008. The political forums I peruse seem to be all abuzz about the topic, however.
