This is the one area that's always going to keep me from getting my liberal card. I'll admit that I'm privilaged, but I think that it has more to do with being raised in a solidly middle class, stable family environment and having parents that had high academic expectations of me than it does the color of my skin.

And even if it does, I've never been clear on exactly what action I was supposed to take to rectify the situation.
