Atlanta cops plead guilty to manslaughter.

i hope they don't stop at criminal charges and pursue federal as well. to the fullest extent of the law.

I have been sort of following this. It was a no-knock raid. And these guys carried throw-down dope for just such an occaision. I'm glad the informant wouldn't go alon with what they wanted but could he now be in danger from the other cops?
Same as that Chicago off-duty guy who beat up the female bartender and then there was pressure on the others there not to talk. The force rallied around him until the tape was made public (is that right? I might be wrong on when it was they decided to charge him.) She's suing now for a lot of money.

i don't think so. his direct threats are the guys in jail that are rolling over on the rest of the dept.

i hadn't heard about the Chicago case. i hope she wins.

and not necessarily in defense of them, but i would, too, be inclined to believe my own over the public initially, depending on the circs, because we get fucked over so much. that said, i also wouldn't disbelieve the person making the claim out of hand.
