Holy Moly! It makes perfect sense. Because, essentially, aren't they coercing people to pay them money so they won't sue them for the amount of money they can get out of them?
essentially, yeah. and i'm waiting for the radio stations to start telling them to fuck off because the RIAA is trying to make stations PAY ROYALTIES for the songs that record companies send to stations to play. AND the RIAA is also trying to put independent stations out of business by the royalty thing, trying to get a law passed where the RIAA can charge royalties FOR BANDS THAT AREN'T RIAA CLIENTS. the best part? those bands HAVE TO ASK FOR THE MONEY if they want it. i don't see how that's not both theft and extortion. i can't wait for those bastards to go down.
