i think the hissy fit about him being a Scientologist is silly, because really, there are more important things to oppose that casting over, like, i don't know, he's not German? i don't see why someone as skillful a director as Bryan Singer isn't smart enough to recognize that other countries do, in fact, have really, really talented actors. and when you're making a movie about one of Germany's national freakin' heroes maybe Singer could remember guys like this.

like why i'm so proud of Rowling for insisting that a film set in England, dealing with all UK characters in an all UK story should be frakking cast with all UK actors, ffs. there was no excuse whatsoever to even consider non-UK actors for the roles.
