i've seen people not happy with McKidd's accent, which, okay that's cool, but people, HELLO? HOW WAS THE, YOU KNOW, ACTUAL STORY???????????????????

update halfway thru:

the accent isn't bothering me at all but the story's a little bit too "mysterious", i think. they left a bit too much out, imho.

edit dos: so the reveal with the ex and the tag totally saved the pilot, and made the premise feel like it could really work. very interested to watch the 2nd ep.

and re his accent, it did seem, i dunno, forced [?] in the first act, like he was building it on his Rome accent, maybe, but well polished by the final act and the tag. the few places his accent sort of slipped actually made him sound Eastern US to me, imho.

but then what do i know? i mean, most Americans are illiterate anyway, so it's not like i know anything about story.

I was confused, but at the same time, I was trying to write a rec letter for a former student I barely remember, fighting with gmail to actually give me my mail -- I wasn't paying close enough attention.

I like the concept, but I will need to watch it again (I was also watching Weeds during part of it).

the idea of going back in time to save someone, but not knowing who or what exactly he needs to do is intriguing. it's not disney-like Quantum Leap (which I really enjoyed), and I like the fact that he ...

it is definitely not Bellesario's Quantum Leap. He does jump back in time and back to the present -- and even he gets confused to when he is. But unlike Sam who had Ziggy and Al to help him get through it with probabilities of who is supposed to be saved, KM's character needs to figure it out on his own.

Part in parcel, the confusion from the storyline it seems, is part of ultimate plan to keep the viewer hooked; someone who is supposed to be dead is not, and is somehow involved in how/why he's jumping in time.

his relationships in the past are also confusing... is he now married to his brother's fiance? WTF?
