Date: 2007-10-01 07:41 am (UTC)on a different note, i just caught the pilot of studio 60. i thought it was brilliant, but i read the show was cancelled. what gives? tdr

Date: 2007-10-01 07:28 pm (UTC)it was far too expensive for its ratings. the pilot was tremendous, and there's some brilliant character and storytelling in it, but i think ultimately what killed it was Sorkin's overthetop preaching. with Sports Night and West Wing, it was balanced, layered within the storytelling, but with S60, something i think he felt too closely, he couldn't get the necessary distance.
it also suffered, imho, from following Heroes...sooooooooooooooooo the wrong pairing.
NBC did let the show get a full season, so i'm pretty sure that a dvd will come out, but it might still be up at nbc's website. they streams eps of their shows.
