shit like this just makes me want to go download everything i can possibly find on the 'net whether i'm remotely interested in it or not. also makes me wish i could write code. heh.
And it's all just cosmetic, and they're so overzealous about it, it's almost hilarious in its futility. I say "almost" because mostly it just makes me say "fuck you" really loudly. They're not going after the real pirates, the people cutting into their profit margin, they're going after what they can see (mostly people who pay for this stuff anyway, in some way or another). They're such shortsighted assholes.
totally dude. it's like the music thing. what about folks who can't afford to shell out cash for every film they wanna see? they get it online, decide they like and a large percentage of them go out and buy it. all they have to do is look at the success of dvd sales for films to find the proof that they're suffering from terminal cranial rectumitis.
Oh and this silliness reminds me (sort of), you know that horrible knife problem in the UK? Well, they're considering a ban on knife sales to people under 18. Yes, that will solve that nasty crime problem.
did you see that at one school in the UK they're banning pencil sharpeners?? Seems that some young bloke took the razor out of the sharpener and stabbed a fellow student... creative lil' buggers
seriously, that's so f'd up... if that kid were here, he would have been in a zero tolerence school and would have gotten kicked out. I wonder if that's part of their non self-defense outlook?
