Protect the children, huh? More like wrap them in cocoons until they emerge as fully-formed, psychologically-approved adults that will never encounter the faintest emotional distress or be required to deal in any way with reality.

Why should we train children to interact with other people at all? Just hook everyone up to VR and automate the world. No contact, no pain, no physical or mental stimulation of any kind - and yeah, the world will be so much safer then.
