as you may or may not know, the moguls walked out of the talks last night. a couple of days ago, it was reported that the Alliance had hired TWO high powered PR firms; one for the Left, and one for the Right. the, uhm, writing, was on the wall. and lo, the Alliance walked out.

the Guild is asking for your help, and i'm asking for you to spread the word.

this isn't just about a work contract; it's about corporate greed and union-busting, it's about someone trying to control how and what kind of entertainment content gets made and distributed, it's about wondering how outright competitors can band together to form a 6-headed hydra when no one else can, and it's about every day people losing their jobs because rich people want to get richer.

Hi –

Here’s something quick that you can do to help us in the strike.

The companies have hired a big-gun PR company to try and “spin” writers. This PR firm, “Fabiani & Lehane”, has spent the last two weeks coming up with press releases like the “New Economic Partnership” while strategizing with the congloms on how to divide the membership during negotiations. Under their watch, the companies have refused to give us the second half of their offer, and appear to be preparing to walk out of negotiations and blame us in a direct assault on member morale and confidence.

We don’t need spin. We need a fair and reasonable deal.

Fabiani & Lehane make their fortune from consulting for Democratic causes and campaigns. They’re probably making about $100,000 a month helping the AMPTP union-bust, while simultaneously billing huge Dem causes. This is not a Democratic issue – it’s a hypocrisy issue.

If they want to make money from political parties and causes that tap into union support, then they shouldn’t expect to be able to work for union-crushing corporations at the same time.

Just call one or all of these three numbers:

Hillary Clinton (213) 908-0190 socalhrc@hillaryclinton.com

John Edwards (919) 636-3131 trusso@johnedwards.com

Barack Obama (866) 675-2008

When you call, politely tell Clinton, Edwards and Obama this:

"As long as Fabiani & Lehane are in the business of union-busting, we want your personal assurance that they will not be in the business of working with Democratic organizations, businesses, politicians or candidates.

A strike is not a business opportunity to make a profit by harming the interests of working men and women."

Thank you for taking a few moments to do this. For more information, check out our post here:

:D I knew that little thing belonged with you when I saw it.

Hey, I know we'll win. With you on the job, for a start. Pissing off our kind is always a big, big mistake.
