somedaybitchi've had that plastic shark for....gawd....21 years? met some college friends for brunch on Shelter Island one sunday when i was still living in San Diego, and the drink of the day was the sharkarita. yep, the shark was attached to the rim of the largest margarita glass i've ever seen. i've had it in every car i've ever driven since then. there's nothing quite like watching the car wash folks trying to figure out what to do with it as they're detailing the interior. heh.

boofadil last yearish, and it instantly became my always present reminder in the car of the CamelCrew[tm]; of their awesomesauce status, Fanta jokes, and their love.
for reasons that are too many to articulate, when i moved the camel to its current position today, in the handy pocket on the passenger side front door - thereby keeping the shark company - that text just popped into my head and i had to snap a photo. there wasn't even any staging. the camel just landed that way.
and becausethemonkeycabal rocks like a rockin' thing, she icon'd it for me. though, she's currently playing KungFuTorment with the kitty and i'm thinkin' it's gonna end in bloodshed, so she may never see this.
the image made me laugh and remember the chats, the board thread silliness until all hours of the morning, the campaign madness, the ComicCons and the Burbanks. memories i wouldn't trade for anything in the world. not anything. in fact, i'm loving this icon so much, i think Shep will have to take a rest for a while. shocking, i know.
so call this my year in review post come early, or my sweetmercifulZeusamiluckytohavesuchfriends post come late. whichever one it is, that image sums up the brilliantly bizarre nature of our collective relationships and i am grateful beyond measure.
