maybe i'll get my wish after all

somedaybitchevery year i have the same wish....that no one dies this christmas. walked into work today to a call of an 11yr old that drowned in a pool. she was doa when we got there. B starts cpr on her. fire gets there and starts their fire thing and helps B with cpr. she's still doa when they get to the hospital. she's been doa for about 20 minutes now, and they've been doing cpr that entire time. doctors start workin' on her at the hospital and out of nowhere this little wisp of a thing fights back. seems to be doing okay so far. no idea about any possible brain damage but one step at a time.
i'm hoping, because of the weather, that the pool water was pretty bloody cold and she went hypothermic. that's my story and i'm stickin' to it. here's hoping.
update: G just came in from the hospital. says the girl's body temp was just 3 degrees above water temp's, and the water was wicked cold. color me happy, but still with the waiting and seeing.

update: she was talking this morning. how's that for a christmas miracle?
