most interesting... but my problem with a lot of the way people look at this is the idea that somehow you should be able to work an entry level job, and then get an apartment, a car and so forth. The very reason to move on from entry is that those sorts of things are difficult. I dunno that there was ever a time when you could live onyour own from entry level. in the olden days the extended family unit was that way because doing it alone was difficult. Dunno what changed there, except the expectation that it could be done.

On the other hand, the only way to truly write on this would be to live as a cipher. Do you think mgmt. might treat you a bit better if you are an articulate experienced person, or if you aren't? Still all that would point to is that entry level retail is damn close to the worst...

It seems to me that there's the (ageless) problem of people with serious health, mental and/or social issues, who are undereducted through no fault of their own, or who have had life pull the rug out from under them not starving or freezing to death and being able to live at some minimal level of dignity.

Then there is the conclusion that Walmart is somehow responsible for making this happen.

For some reason I'm reminded of that old cartoon where the scientist is standing in front of an equation-covered chalkboard and in the space just before the conclusion is written 'Then a miracle occures'
