and now, because we're glory-hogging fascist dictators, we're deleting specific threads and replies of specific posters. i'd link them for your reading edification but i can't, because, well, we deleted them, because we're glory-hogging fascist dictators.

translation for those of you following along at home....our site got hacked. we tried to download a backup of today's data, because the most recent backup we had was 5 days ago, but we didn't manage the backup before the server locked up for some reason. so, all posts for the last five days are missing. the TV Guide ad thread in particular. no, the originator of the thread didn't say anything, but that person's self-appointed defender (S-AD) against the glory-hogging fascist dictators got on, after we were able to restore a backup from 5 days ago, and asked why that thread and S-AD's replies on other threads had been deleted. because, you know, we have nothing better to do.

red has been working on this since about noon pacific time. she got about 3 hours of sleep before she was woken up the first of many times for a Farscape-related phone call that wasn't about the hack. she's still working on it. it's all frelled up. a lot. luckily, she had started making backups and moving data over to our new host last week. the problem is with transferring and uploading the data. we were just going to upload to the new server and start out all clean and shiny, except for the part where the upload is going to take at least 8 hours, and it's already timed out twice today.

so, while that's cooking, she was able to upload the infamous 5 day old backup. but we can't fully fix stuff because there are vulnerabilities still existing. and we can't get knucklehead's stupid message to go away because we can't fucking find it in the database.

to make things worse, red made a security mindy, followed the instructions to the letter and it locked us out.

to then have someone come on and say we deleted threads that were "controversial" is beyond ridiculous. we have neither the time nor the interest in censoring campaign-related content on the board.

i'm sick of the glory-hogging fascist dictator meme. where do i order a new one?
