Nov. 2nd, 2004 06:38 pmso me and
themonkeycabal voted at the really pretty local middle school. the joint was jumpin'. it made me so damned proud. still have our stickers on because, well, we're proud and it's important. the electronic voting thing was a bit weird, and like the roomie, i remain a bit leery, but the machine had a scroll'o'papertrail that emitted after each voter voted, so that was good.
once finished, and proudly bearing our "I voted" stickers, we went toRafe's Ralphs and got stuff to make mulled cider and cow for barbequeing, along with some cranberry flavored malt beverages, sweet potatoes to bake in the oven, fresh broccoli and a baguette. our reward for doing our civic duty. we threw the evil eye at folks that didn't bear the in-crowd stickers and i'm pretty sure that my checker was flirting with me. he asked if i was old enough to drink. i laughed, told him i was very much older than 21 and asked if he needed to see my id. he said yes, bless his heart.
all in all, a good day.
mmmmmmmmmm, cow.
