so i was looking for something after a chat that
themonkeycabal and i had in the comments of [this post], and i found myself at Skiffy's BSG site. i know. i *know*. oy. while poking around a pretty but rather lackluster site, i spotted a journal entry from [Richard Hatch.]. it's good. it's insightful and it speaks volumes about the production in general and Richard and creator Ron Moore in particular.
Richard has a lot to say about his journey to this point, the cast, and acting in general. it's a good read.

A few weeks later, after having thanked him for his courage to appear at our event [the original series convention], I received an e-mail inviting me to explore the possibility of working with a new series if it were picked up. Oh, boy — now I was extremely conflicted. How does one decide to involve himself in a series one had fought so hard against for several years? The decision to say yes or no in situations like this usually comes down to the caliber and quality of the people involved. I found that in spite of my strong beliefs, I still liked and respected Ron Moore, and found his passion, intelligence and vision compelling.
