hey Verizon, you suck.
Jul. 5th, 2005 02:43 amas if denying us dsl for nearly a month wasn't enough. i just got a call from SBC, the company formerly known as Pacific Bell. she was calling from the Bay Area. one of my residents apparently dialed 9-1-1 and for some freaktastic reason the call routed to San Francisco PD. yes, you read that correctly.
dude is calling because he just attempted suicide. well, "just" in a relatively speaking kind of way. SF got the call at 0149 and i got the call at 0230. SBC called me directly because, after finding out the phone number was a Verizon customer and calling them, she was told by Verizon Security (the law enforcement access line) that they would not release the address of a SUICIDAL SUBJECT to them because SBC WAS A RIVAL PHONE COMPANY.
yes, you read that right.
so she called me and i did a reverse look up on the number and got an address. not in the mood to fuck with Verizon, or delay the call any further given the already way too long time lapse, i simply started units and rolled rescue. *after* my units got there and verified a male by the same name did live at the address, and *after* my units verified they were at the right house i called Verizon and yelled. the guy couldn't figure out what i was so pissed about.
