That's one of those movies that, if I see it on the television, I have to watch it all the way through, no matter what time it is.

Loved Ray Liotta's Joe Jackson.

it's one of the only roles that i have truly loved Liotta in. his Shoeless Joe Jackson was wise, sad, self-aware and a little rascal. loved him. and the last scene of the film just kills me. the guy that plays John Kinsella, Dwier Brown, just nailed it. presented with his deepest dream he's just short of terrified that if he blinks, it'll all go away. guh.

and then of course, James Earl Jones and Burt Lancaster. masters both.

stupid movies that make me cry.

Burt Lancaster. masters both.

And he was the one that made me cry. Watching Moonlight Graham make the choice, give up his dream, to save Ray's daughter knowing he couldn't go back.

But, at least he got to wink at the pitcher. *g*
