Thea has written a quiet, lovely, angsty but subtle ~~pRon~~ story set in the Season 9 SG-1 universe. it's Mitchell/Vala. it's post-whateverthehell the ep is where Mitchell nearly dies from the Prior disease. it's so touching, and snarky, with biting dialogue and sharp character intuits. [can you make that a noun?] it's gracious and graceful; the mission is canon contiguous and wedges itself perfectly into the moment she's created.

i didn't see John and Aeryn with different names. i saw Cam and Vala and a lot of unspoken pain.

Maybe it's the way she looked around when they stepped through the gate, like she was getting another chance, like she had a purpose. To find that purpose shot to shit was a hell of a thing. Maybe he could relate.

Using the last of his strength, he sits back on his heels, pulling her with him to hold her tightly to his chest. Neither of them have signed on for anything more than lust and release, but in this moment, he wants to offer her some quiet and some gratitude and grace. Wants to offer it to himself.
