streaming customized radio. tell it an artist or song name and it plays that, then finds stuff that sounds like that.
you can let it know if you like what it found, don't like it, want to hear that song more or wonder why it picked that. then it refines and searches some more. every new band it offers you can keep refining. membership is free and you can try it out without needing to register. you can create 100 custom stations. it's ad supported, but they're fairly unobtrusive, and if you want, there's a subscription offer that's around 30bucks a year i think.
