SPN speculation
Jan. 20th, 2007 05:14 ami liked Ava.
the obvious path is that she's a demon. i'm hoping not. i think. unfortunately, or fortunately, there's enough in the ep that makes her utterly ambiguous.
boyfriend's throat; that just screams DemonicCellPhoneCall.
engagement ring left behind; why take it off if Ava's the apparently kidnapped victim?
both imply a demon, i think, *especially* in light of Meg, and Croatoan, and the doctor in Croatoan, that i'm pretty sure i'm the only one that is convinced was a demon. [what? it sooooo makes sense.]
on the not!demon side was the fact that they *showed us* Ava's visions. and that her being a demon is the obvious path.
i'm not sure which one would make a more compelling story, really. i mean, i *think* not!demon, but not necessarily. especially given that the demon!test went off totally undetected in Croatoan, so, i mean, from a yellow-eyed point of view it's methodology that clearly works for them, and makes logical story sense, so it's not like it's necessarily "lazier" writing, you know? but at the same time i *really* like the idea that fireontheceiling isn't the only indicator; rather, that's it's perhaps one of several and it's simply the only one our intrepid brothers know because of mom.
there's a nature/nuture aspect here, i think. *that's* what separating out the kids like Sam, and, i think, what's tipping the demon's hand into fiery action.
i like that i can't figure this out, but it vexes me. i'm terribly vexxed./commodus
