to which i say, yes, this.

if we truly believe the Talk that race and gender don't matter - and aren't merely espousing when it suits our agendas - then race and gender don't matter. they are, of *course*, factors that form who and what we are, how we see the world, but do not automatically grant us wisdom - nor make us de facto bad guys - simply by virtue of their existence.
