having said that, i'm very happy that there are only 3 episodes so far that i'm not deeply in love with.

but wow, did the writer blow it with Hodgins HUGE in this ep. holy cow. and then there's the whole really badly done fake out with the original Fed investigating the case. his gun would be hot/warm, and even absent that, it's a simple matter of doing a gsr. so, you know, badly done, yo.

that writer, for me, tends to be a little hit and miss.. Elizabeth Benjamin wrote this ep (302 - soccer mom), man in the wall (106), superhero in the alley (112), man in the morgue - which she co-wrote (119), the woman in the sand (vegas ep - 208), spaceman in the crater (219), santa in the slush - she co-wrote (309), the crank in the shaft (406) & bones that foam (416) which was also david boreanaz' directorial debut on bones.

106, 119, 208, 309, & 406 i really liked... the others I ranged between avg to meh..

haven't seen beyond 302 yet. none of the other eps that she wrote in 1-3 bugged me character-wise. this is the first time and i was thrown out of the ep because of it.
