I wish they'd vote on things one at a time rather than have a lot of stuff in one bill. I guess it would be a lot more work to deal with each item that comes up separately, though. But it seems like it would be a lot easier to vote on without having to be concerned with side issues.

a lot of stuff in one bill ensures that people get their pet projects through the system. that's how "pork" happens.

and if they did stuff one at a time, then we'd know what they were doing, and we're just the unwashed masses....except for where *they* work for *us*.

There are days when I dislike our government. But then I think how grateful I am to live in a country where I have the freedom to say that without fear of retaliation. I might dislike the political games, but I can vote and I can contact my government representatives. If enough people agree with me, we can change the government in a civil, peaceful process.

It's just some days I want to turn off the news and live for a while in blissful ignorance.

you should have seen me the first time i found out about this kind of bullshit. i was in a poli sci class in college, and i was all, "what? WAIT. WHAT??? THEY FUCKING DO WHAT??????? HOW IS THAT LEGAL?????????"

needless to say, my classmates were more amused than the instructor.
