wow, do i keep liking the practicality of Sarkozy.

and i mean it in the, "that's a nice dream, well and truly, but let's look at the reality we face first" way. i can see where folk are calling the comments a diss, but i'm not sure they were necessarily meant that way.

this, on the other hand, is most definitely meant as a diss. and i don't find myself disagreeing. i get the President's sentiment - and laud it - but like Sarkozy pointed out, there's a reality in play that doesn't care about sentiment. it's all well and good to want to kiss ass in the international sandbox, but weakness gets eaten alive. if the bullies believe that we won't do anything but frown in their general direction, they'll go about their bully business.

Agreed. It's all well and good to want peace among nations, but it can't exist without the strength to back it up, and the willingness to use that strength.
