Sep. 27th, 2009 02:43 pmFIRE interviews Dave Barry regarding Marquette University's censorship of a Barry quote.
the quote, which the university called "patently offensive", reads thus: "As Americans we must always remember that we all have a common enemy, an enemy that is dangerous, powerful, and relentless. I refer, of course, to the federal government."
if you've never heard of FIRE, click through and check out the utterly horrific censorship happening on college campuses across the country. college campuses; those places of so-called higher learning where students are *supposed* to learn how to think for themselves, grapple with and discuss new and conflicting ideas, and essentially learn how to be grown ups.
no wonder we're so fucked up.
