from the "oh, i'm sorry. does this make you look like the asshole you are?" category:

Iran denounces Oxford Scholarship set up in memory of government-murdered victim.

"We believe that your college decision to abuse Neda's case to establish a graduate scholarship will highly politicise your academic institution, undermining your scientific credibility."
[read: will make us look like the murdering bastards that we really are and we don't like that.]

good for Oxford.

and in the "wtf, bitch? are you a 5 year old????" category:

female Nepalese government minister slaps male chief district officer for failing to ensure that a NEW car picked her up.

she slapped him 5 times; once so hard it broke his eyeglasses. i would have decked her.

and then there's "hmmmmmmm":

Re: John Taylor. By his argument, the fact that people still read Shakespeare, Mark Twain and Heinlein means that current authors are stifled. I don't see that being the case.

Ideally the fact that artists of all stripes are aware of and in competition with previous works will produce better quality.

that's how i took it also. and the internet gives infinitely more access to artists that we the public would NEVER come across if we had to still rely on legacy media.
