weekend viewing that rocked
Dec. 21st, 2009 12:00 amCastle - The Fifth Bullet; Marc Blucas kicked major, major ass, and the writers beautifully handled the trope of amnesia.
no spoiling of the ep in case
pualaridesagain reads this post. she still hasn't seen it yet.
Dollhouse - Stop Loss, and, The Attic. superb characterizations, the return of Mr Dominic, and two twists that i SO did not see coming. yummy.
Star Trek: TOS - The Cage, Space Seed, Tomorrow is Yesterday, and Mirror, Mirror. when TOS was "on", man, it was spot on.
the trailer for Daybreakers. hol.ee.cow. as i mentioned elsewhere, FINALLY a vampire tale that deals with what happens when the blood source runs out. and majorly, epic bonus points for using Placebo's utterly superb cover of "Running Up That Hill." i never thought i'd love a version more than Kate Bush's original. arguably one of the best songs ever recorded.
trailers are an art form in their own right, and the Daybreakers trailer ranks right up there. plus, you know, vamps that aren't 14 and don't glitter. call me a snob, but i like my immortal creatures to actually be able to pull off the gravitas of being immortal.
and now it's obscenely beyond my bedtime. sweet dreams, my lovelies.
