so Quincy Jones and half the planet are here today to record "We Are The Haiti", or whatever the hell they're going to call it.

i'm standing in the courtyard having a chat with the head motion-capture guy and my showrunner, and i see an AD buddy of mine walk across the courtyard. of course, i yelled out, "Dude?", and he was just as surprised to see me as i was to see him.

i'd wanted to show him the shoot last season but our schedules didn't sync, and lo, now they do. :::laughs:::

so i take him and his son on the stage and show them the rehearsal that's going on. they're both blown away. he then does me the groovy return favor of introducing me to Larry Bennett - Paul Haggis' production designer on Crash. guess they're producing this for QJ. it was fun explaining the process in rough general terms and watching the eyes of a seasoned vet light up like a kid's.

good times.

makes up for the, literally 500 extra people on the lot today. though, getting our very own dedicated Very Burly Security Guard at the door of stage is pretty cool.

oh ffs. TMZ has a live stream of one of the gates. :::laughs::

mostly i avoided the Circus like the plague, but yeah, the wee bit of Accidental Celebrity Spotting i did was a good time.

and, of course, all the paparrazi shots we frelled by blocking the camera - going and coming from lunch - was worth their weight in gold.

re RT, i'm pretty sure that it was him who accidentally trapped my pa as he was leaving; she was right behind a porsche, and it couldn't get out because of the demon horde paparrazi. took her a good 5 minutes to clear the gate, poor thing.
