how about that road to Damascus?
Jun. 28th, 2005 08:46 pmexpressing faith in another human being is a simple thing and yet frequently overlooked. the power of words like "i understand" have a resonance and weight far beyond their practical expression. when that faith is lost for whatever reason, the blow to one's sense of self can feel insurmountable. the journey back is one often taken in steps of infinitessimal measure.
if you have found yourself on one side of that faith or the other, stop and think about why. stop and think about the other person involved. stop and recall that the other person involved is a thinking, feeling human being. and if you find yourself heading towards Damascus, try and avoid the main road. the lightening strikes are a bitch.
